Families play a large part in the recovery of an addict. When addictions strike, it not only affects the addict, but the family of the addict as well. However, these family members also need to take care of their own health, so they can provide the love and support addicted people need in order to heal.
Often family members of addict’s struggle with shame, guilt and blame. As a result of this, they may have difficulty coping with challenges that come along with having a family member who is an addict.
